Students in KG 1 to Grade 1 at Suleimaniah International School, a SABIS® PPP school in Kurdistan, work hard to earn Star of the Week certificates that are handed out every week.
Students who follow school rules and work hard at their school work are rewarded each week with a certificate that is given to them by the Academic Quality Controller (AQC). The AQC finds out from the teachers who will be the stars of the week and makes two certificates for each student. At the end of the week the AQC gives one certificate to the student and hangs the second one on the Star of the Week wall.
The purpose of having and rewarding students with Star of the Week certificates is to encourage students to work hard and follow the rules. It also gives students something to look forward to at the end of every week. “I feel happy and proud when I see my name on the Star of the Week wall,” shared a student.
