On Saturday, October 1, 2016, students in Grade 6 at Suleimaniah International School, a SABIS® PPP school, participated in a cooking challenge at the school called Master Chef.
The students in grades 6 and the SABIS Student Life Organization® (SLO®) Sports and Health prefects organized the cooking event. Some students brought food from home that they made themselves while others prepared their food in front of the teachers and students. After tasting the different foods and learning about them, the students and teachers sat down to a lunch made from all the food that the students prepared.
The purpose of this activity was for students to explore food and cooking. In many ways it made the students realize that they could make food themselves and be more independent. “From now on l will cook for myself. I was so happy when my teachers and my friends liked my food,” shared a student. student. To visit the gallery of the event, please click here
